56 Pounds of Marijuana Seized During Traffic Stop

WASHINGTON COUNTY, August 24, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Washington County Sheriff’s Office said their Deputy Sam Graf initiated a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation today at approximately 1:45 a.m. During contact with the driver, he detected an odor of marijuana and deployed his K9 partner, Tess, to search for illegal contraband.  Tess indicated the presence of drugs, and during a search of the vehicle around 56 pounds of marijuana was seized.

Melvin Posey of Chicago, Illinois, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container of alcohol and lane travel violation. Rodrick Douglas of Gaithersburg, Maryland, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and open container of alcohol.
