SANDY, Utah, March 9, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Sandy Police are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery at a credit union Tuesday.
Sandy Police spokesman Sgt. Dean Carriger said in a prepared statement that the suspect entered the Security Service Credit Union at 10490 S. 1300 East at approximately 2 p.m.
“The suspect approached a teller at the counter,” Carriger said. “He showed the teller the butt of a handgun and demanded money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the business to the northwest on foot.”
The suspect was described as white, about 5-feet-10-inches tall, thin to medium build, wearing a black hood, black mask, blue gloves, a blue jacket with a black strip across the chest, jeans and sunglasses.
