CORINNE, Utah, July 27, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A body found floating in the Bear River near Corinne on Saturday has been identified as that of Nicole Marie Barlow, 26, of Brigham City.

The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office is calling the death suspicious, but not releasing details regarding the cause.

“No details on the manner of death will be released at this time to protect the investigation,” said a statement released by Sheriff Kevin Potter.

Officers responded at 8:45 p.m. Saturday after a man fishing in the area reported seeing the body, which was about a quarter mile north of the Corinne boat ramp.

The body was retrieved and transported to the Medical Examiner’s office.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barlow family at this difficult time,” Potter’s statement said.

The Box Elder Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information on the case contact Det. Sgt. Austin Bowcutt at 435-734-3867 or albowcutt@boxeldercounty.org.

An obituary posted on the Gillies Funeral Home Facebook page said Barlow is a graduate of Dale Young Community High School and she attended Box Elder High School.

She enjoyed being a waitress, the obituary said, and liked making art, playing piano and organizing.
