Brush fire damages outbuilding in Cache County

CACHE COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 27, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews contained a brush fire that damaged an outbuilding in Scare Canyon east of Avon in Cache County Monday morning.

Officials with Cache County Fire said the fire broke out at approximately 10 a.m. northeast of Porcupine Reservoir and burned about an acre-and-a-half.

An outbuilding was burned, but not destroyed; officials have not given an exact extent of damages at this time. A cabin was briefly threatened by the blaze, but officials were able to keep the fire away from it.

No one was injured and nobody had to be evacuated as a result of the incident, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
