SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 19, 2023 (Gephardt Daily) — Two Clearfield men were indicted federally Wednesday, accused of dealing heroin and fentanyl.
Juan Robles-Ramos, 22, and Pedro De Jesus Figueroa-Roman each are charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, while Figueroa-Roman is additionally charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, according to a Wednesday press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Utah, the state’s U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor.
The men are described as foreign nationals in the release, but their country of origin is not mentioned.
Beginning in July 2023, the FBI Wasatch Metro Drug Force began a criminal investigation into Figueroa-Roman and Robles-Ramos and other members of a drug trafficking organization believed to be distributing large quantities of narcotics in Utah.
The drug unit consists of the FBI and the Davis Metro Narcotic Strike Force.
During the execution of a search warrant of Robles-Ramos’ and Figueroa-Roman’s residence Oct. 6, agents recovered approximately 1,444 grams of fentanyl estimated from 14,000 fentanyl pills found, over 1,400 grams of heroin and more than $4,000 in cash, according to the DOJ.
In a separate area of the residence, agents also recovered 1,292 grams of heroin.
The pair is to be arraigned Thursday in federal court.
