WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, June 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews battled a house fire in West Valley City early Sunday morning.

A tweet from the West Valley City Fire Department said the blaze broke out at 6997 W. Copper Hill Drive just before 6 a.m. and was mainly contained to an upstairs bedroom.

With assistance from Unified Fire Authority, crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, the tweet said.

“Two people who live at the home were inside when the fire broke out,” the tweet said. “Both made it out safely. One person was treated on scene. There is fire and water damage to the bedroom and smoke and water damage to the upstairs hallway.”

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, the tweet said.

Authorities have not estimated the exact extent of damages to the home.
