SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 9, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A 24-year-old man from New York state has fallen to his death while visiting Dead Horse State Park.

A news release from San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said Michael Albu, from College Point, New York, fell to his death while visiting the park in San Juan County. The victim was traveling alone, and no witnesses viewed the fall.

The press release states: “The family of the victim contacted the state park Tuesday from New York stating that their loved one was overdue from contacting them. State park rangers located the victim’s vehicle within the park shortly thereafter, around 3 p.m.

“Park rangers then searched trails including those near the steep cliffs, and located the body of the victim just before dark on Tuesday. It is estimated that the victim fell approximately 750 feet.

“It is unknown at this time when the victim fell, however no foul play is suspected. It appears that the fall was an accident.”
