DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH – May 17, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –  The earth moved in Farmington Canyon Sunday morning.

Literally.

When it did, a massive boulder the size of truck landed in the middle of the canyon road.

According to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, a driver spotted the boulder and called police.

A Forest Service crew was able to remove the rock by the early Sunday afternoon, but both foot and vehicle traffic in the canyon is being prohibited for the next three days.

Forest Service spokesperson Kathy Pollack woman says the recent heavy rains were the likely cause of the rock slide and that engineers would continue to evaluate the hillside.
