KANE COUNTY, Utah, July 5, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Mineral Gulch Fire, located about 18 miles northwest of Kanab in Kane County, was estimated at 86 acres Sunday morning, Utah Fire Info says.
The fire was discovered Saturday and estimated then at 30 to 50 acres. It has been determined to be human caused.
“Firefighters continue making good progress,” the update says. “Ground crews, engines, dozers and air resources remain actively engaged on the fire.
“Dozer line construction continues to improve containment as crews strengthen and secure the fire perimeter. Please avoid the area and give firefighters room to work.”
