HEBER CITY, UTAH – APRIL 27, 2015 — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a man killed over the weekend in a motocycle crash on Highway 40 just east of Jordanelle Reservoir.

Both vehicles were headed west on Highway 40 when officers say Conor S. Wilson, 23, from Kaysville, appeared to have struck the rear trailer of a slow-moving semi hauling a loaded double tanker.

It appears that Wilson didn’t recognize the semi’s slower speed on the highway’s incline. There were no signs the motorcycle tried to slow down or move to another lane.

Wilson was wearing a helmet and riding gear and died at the scene.

Excessive speed doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash.

Westbound lanes of Highway 40 were closed for an hour and traffic was routed into the emergency lane.
