Update: 4 homes evacuated after new brush fire flares in Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, July 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Four residences in Summit County have been evacuated after a brush fire broke out Monday afternoon.

Park City Fire District officials tweeted at approximately 2:15 p.m. the brush fire in Tollgate Canyon had burned approximately 10 acres.

At 4:45 p.m., the district tweeted the fire has now burned approximately 60 acres and four structures have been evacuated but none are in immediate danger.

“Fire crews are taking extreme precautions and working diligently to control the fire,” the tweet said.

There have been no injuries as a result of the incident.

North Summit Fire, South Summit Fire, Summit County Fire warden, and seven aircraft from other agencies have joined Park City Fire District in battling the blaze.
