Pole fire causes 3,000 to lose power in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Nov. 17, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have restored power to a final 318 customers after a pole fire in West Valley City caused more than 3,000 homes to lose electricity early Thursday morning.

Rocky Mountain Power first responded to the fire in the area of 4000 West and 4100 South at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Initially, a total of 3,007 people in zip code 84120 were without power, but that total had decreased to just over 300 people by morning.

 

Power was restored to all customers by 11:50 a.m.
