SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake City woman missing since Sunday was found dead Tuesday morning, police said.

Becky Lewis, 72, was found by officers on the side of a popular trail in the foothills a short distance from her home, according to a tweet from Salt Lake City Police Department.

SLCPD tweeted that as of Tuesday morning, Lewis’ death doesn’t appear to be the result of anything criminal. The case will remain open, pending the results of an autopsy.

The police department tweeted Monday evening that Lewis went missing at about 2 p.m. Sunday from the area of 500 East and 14th Avenue. The tweets said she was “very active mentally and physically.”

The department added another tweet on Tuesday morning:

“We would like to thank the media and public for putting out the picture and looking for Becky Lewis.”
