PROVO, Utah, Oct. 23, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating after the body of a 64-year-old woman was found by a fisherman in the Provo River Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Kathleen Lewis, the Provo Police Department said in a news release on Facebook.

Lewis’ body was found in the area of 900 North and 800 West just after 5 p.m., officials said. Lewis lived nearby.

“We believe her body was in the river for a short period of time before being found,” the news release said. “She has injuries consistent with falling down the bank and hitting her head, but a body in the river is obviously suspicious and we are pursuing every investigative opportunity to learn what happened.”

Officials do not currently suspect foul play or have any suspects, but anyone who saw Lewis in that area Monday afternoon or has information about her activities is asked to call Provo Police Department on 801-852-6210.
