Police searching for suspect after shots fired outside Salt Lake City 7-Eleven

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect after shots were fired outside a Salt Lake City 7-Eleven Tuesday night.

The incident occurred outside the convenience store at 1157 W. California Ave. (1300 South) at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

Two men recognized each other inside the store, the news release said.

“One man exited and entered his vehicle,” the news release goes on. “As the victim was driving away the suspect exited the store and fired several shots from a handgun at the victim and then fled on foot.”

Three shell casings were found in the parking lot of the convenience store.

A house across the street was hit by one round; no injuries were reported.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, officials said.

The suspect is described as a bald male, approximately 30 years old, wearing a red pullover shirt.
