BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Utah, May 31, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Bryce Canyon National Park visitors are being asked to drive with care after a pregnant pronghorn antelope was killed by a hit-and-run driver near the park’s entrance Saturday evening.
“Nothing in the park is worth endangering its wildlife by speeding, and respecting posted speed limits is all about respecting the lives that make Bryce Canyon so special,” said a Facebook post from the park.
“Posted speed limits from the park entrance through the Bryce Amphitheater area are 30 mph and below. These lower speed limits are primarily to protect the abundance of wildlife along roadsides in this area. This time of year is a time to be especially vigilant as many species are giving birth to young ones.”
The post added: “Please take it slow, be mindful of your surroundings, and enjoy a visit that’s safe for everyone.”
