EUREKA COUNTY, Nevada, Aug. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A semi crash on Interstate 80 in Eureka County Sunday morning resulted in a Hazmat situation.

Officials including the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Highway Patrol, Carlin Fire and Rescue, Beowawe Fire, Crescent Valley Fire and Eureka County EMS responded to the crash, at mile marker 270, just after 9 a.m.

“This crash resulted in a Hazmat situation,” said a Facebook post from the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office. Officials did not say what exactly was spilled onto the freeway.

Crews are currently on scene and will remain until cleanup is complete, the post said.

The crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

I-80 has one lane open eastbound at this time, the post said.
