Two Earthquakes Reported Wednesday Morning Near Duchesne

DUCHESNE, Utah, May 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Two small earthquakes have been reported Wednesday morning near the city of Duchesne, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Both earthquakes were within 26 miles of Duchesne. The first one was reported at 7:01 a.m. with a magnitude of 4.0 and the second one came at 9:24 a.m. with a magnitude of 2.7.

According to earthquaketrack.com, in the last month, Utah has had 41 earthquakes of 1.5 magnitude or higher. In the past year, there have been 368—14 of which were 3.0 magnitude or higher and three reported at over 4.0.
