Dear Macin’s Army:

I am so appreciative to announce the generosity of Ed Smart (Amber Alert Activist and father of Elizabeth Smart) will be holding a special press conference tomorrow (Wednesday November 25 2015) at the Rio Tinto at noon. The focus will be on the missing Utahns who have literally disappeared without a trace over the last few months. Spoke to Ed Smart yesterday who is such a kind man and he has put this event together over the last couple of days on behalf of the grieving families; who have yet to receive answers on their lost loved ones.

So many great individuals that have been placed in our lives at this time to carry us through this trial. Too many to thank individually. But know you will forever have a place in my heart. My family is so grateful and overwhelmed by the response to our current circumstances. Your creativity and willingness to give of your time, money and talents have brought us closer to some possible answers.

Today is the 12 week mark. I never would of predicted that Macin would not be back by now. I do vacillate still between hope and despair. I know that so many are dealing with their own loss and trauma and I am not unique in my grief. Although I was praying I would be one that would be spared joining the “lost child” club. My heart goes out to Joshua Easley’s family whose remains were identified today in North Ogden. There are no words. He was only 25. My 25 year old daughter sits beside me tonight as I write. She has been a great comfort to me this past week. Our relationships are strengthened by adversity. The Smiths are survivors.

I love my Macin. I am hoping the answers come soon. If they don’t, it won’t be because we haven’t been diligent in searching. Maybe Macin is just that clever. God Bless Macin’s Army!

Love,
The Momma

  1. I follow your news on Facebook and feel the disappointment and pain each day when there is no news. My prayer is that you will get your news this weekend and that it will be good news. You are a strong family and you are being supported by thousands through prayer and hope and I know you feel that strength. That is great Ed Smart is getting involved. There are so many of our young people missing from Utah without a trace. They have to be found!! They have to.
