Woman in critical condition after Moab motorcycle crash

MOAB, Utah, Aug. 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman is in critical condition after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a vehicle in Moab Wednesday afternoon.

The Grand County EMS released a statement:

“This afternoon at approximately 12:53 p.m. a motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of 100 North and 100 West. A motorcycle with two occupants and a vehicle collided.”

The woman sustained critical but non life-threatening injuries, the news release said. The male passenger sustained minor injuries. Both patients were transported to Moab Regional Hospital and the female was then flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, by Classic Air Medical.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with law enforcement officials as well as being evaluated by mental health professionals, the news release said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Moab City Police Department. Units from Moab City Police Department, Moab Valley Fire Department, Grand County Sheriff’s Office and Grand County EMS were on scene.
