LOS ANGELES, June 23 (UPI) — Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll, 32, was charged Monday for felony drug possession in regard to his April arrest for suspicion of cocaine and Ecstasy at the MGM Grand’s Wet Republic pool club in Las Vegas, Nev., reports ESPN.

The police report and toxicology tests revealed 3.3 grams of cocaine and MDMA filled gel capsules were found in the pockets of Stoll’s swim trunks after he underwent a routine pat-down upon entering the establishment.

Stoll is set to be an unrestricted free agent this upcoming 2015-2016 season after his team, the defending Stanley Cup champions, failed to reach the playoffs.

With his court date set for July 1, Stoll may face up to four years in prison if convicted.

Davis Z. Chesnoff, Stoll’s attorney, said that he is “hopeful there will be a resolution that will be a fair one, and we’re working on it.”

E! News reported that the Kings said they will conduct an internal investigation.

The hockey player is romantically linked to sports reporter and Dancing with the Starshost Erin Andrews. Despite not being seen together since his April 17 arrest, E! reports “they’re still a couple.”
