Update: Evacuations lifted after water main break in the Avenues

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 19, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Evacuations have been lifted after a water main break in Salt Lake City’s Avenues area Tuesday morning.

SLC Public Utilities tweeted at 8 a.m. that the water main break is in the area of 170 E. 1st Ave.

“Emergency crews smelled natural gas, so @SLCfire dispatched,” the tweet said. “Repair crews will begin work as soon as all is determined safe.”

Salt Lake City Fire Department tweeted at 4 p.m. that all evacuations have been lifted and occupants are free to return to their homes in the affected area.
