Salt Lake City man wounded after nearly 20 shots fired into home

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 23, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was shot and wounded early Sunday morning after someone fired nearly 20 shots into a Salt Lake City home.

Police told Gephardt Daily the 33-year-old man was inside the residence at 911 North Sir Michael Drive when a black car with 3 males inside pulled up and opened fire.

The man inside the home was hit in the thigh by flying debris. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators recovered at least 19 shell casings from the street in front of the home.

There were no other reports of injuries.

Police stopped a possible suspect vehicle shortly after the shooting. It’s yet to be determined if it belonged to the shooters.

The police investigation is ongoing.
