School Bus Collision in Iron County Flips Drilling Rig on it’s Side

ENOCH, UTAH – August 26, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A collision between an Iron County School bus and a drilling rig Wednesday morning forced the rig to flip onto it’s side before coming to a stop.

According to Utah Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of SR-130 and Midvalley Road when the driver of an Iron County School District bus was entering the intersection of SR-130 when it appears he did not see the drill rig which was traveling south on SR-130.

The bus collided with the rear side area of drill rig causing it to go off the roadway, onto the shoulder and eventually overturn onto it’s side.

UHP said there were no kids on the school bus at the time and the driver of the school bus sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the drill rig did not sustain any injuries.
