UPD seeking public’s assistance locating Millcreek armed robbery suspect

MILLCREEK, Utah, June 16, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police Department is looking for a suspect after an armed robbery in Millcreek Sunday.

The incident occurred at Black and White Photography and Video at 3335 S. 900 East, just after 11:05 p.m., UPD spokesman Lt. Brian Lohrke said in a news release.

“The two victims reported the suspect entered the business with his jacket pulled up around his face,” the news release said. “The suspect told the victims to give him all their stuff; wallets and cell phones. One of the victims started to fight with the suspect who subsequently punched the victim and then brandished a black handgun.”

The suspect took their wallets and cell phones, then pushed the victims into a back room and told them if they came out he would shoot them.

After a few minutes, the two victims went outside and used another person’s phone to call for help. Police arrived to investigate and search but did not locate the armed robbery suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, wearing dark pants and jacket, with a baseball hat bearing a logo “LA”. The suspect spoke solely in Spanish.

Detectives from UPD’s Violent Crimes Unit are asking the public for assistance in identifying and locating the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the UPD at 385-468- 9812 or 801-743-7000.
