TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, July 12, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Tooele County’s Stookey fire now stands at 4,000 acres after erratic winds fed the flames.
On Saturday, it was estimated at 300 acres. The fire remains at 0% contained.
“Crews are using indirect suppression on the east/west sides and direct suppression in Rock Canyon,” a Utah Fire Info update says.
“Engines and air assets are on scene. No structures threatened.”
The Tooele County Sheriff has closed Pony Express Road at State Route 36.
