Woman Seriously Injured In Little Cottonwood Canyon Fall

LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, May 29, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 25-year-old woman is in serious condition after falling and hitting her head while hiking Sunday in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Det. Ken Hansen of the Unified Police Department told Gephardt Daily the woman was with her husband in the area of Lisa Falls when the accident happened.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was knocked unconscious during the fall. She suffered head and neck injuries.

Search and rescue crews from Unified Police and Unified Fire had to hike through rugged terrain to reach the injured woman. As nightfall approached, they had managed to stabilize her and carry her from the mountainside before transporting her to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
