BEAVER COUNTY, Utah, May 24, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The mother of a 3-year-old boy rescued from a Beaver County creek Tuesday has shared more positive signs in the toddler’s “very long and tremendous road” to recovery.

Levi Wright had been driving a toy tractor about 6 p.m. Tuesday when he was swept away in a nearby creek, the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office said.

Levi was located and life-saving measures were administrated before he was transported by ambulance to Beaver Valley Hospital and later by Intermountain Life Flight to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Kallie Wright shared the news Thursday that Levi had woken up in the hospital and offered another update Friday.

“Just to clarify, Levi waking up doesn’t mean he’s fully coherent or talking or anything like that. Just that he opened his eyes for a period of time, wiggled with purpose and less like just a reflex as before,” the Facebook post says.

“We still have a very long and tremendous road ahead of us, full of unknowns.”

Wright said she and her husband, Spencer, “felt like he knew we were there and could hear us.”

“He’s been pretty sedated since then but has still had small periods of awakeness. He actually woke up during us talking to one of the doctors about his love of excavators and tractors!”

An MRI was scheduled for Friday, she said.

“I’ve been singing the excavator song and big green tractor to him and we talked about some of the things we are going to do when he breaks out of here,” the post says.

Kallie Wright also thanked those who have shared their support and prayers for Levi’s recovery.

“Your prayers have moved mountains but we still need a few more,” she wrote. “It humbles me to see Levi bring so many people together, to be the reason we are reminded of what really matters in life and to remember that GOD IS REAL!”

Spencer Wright is a professional rodeo star who’s currently ranked No. 40 in the world in saddle bronc, according to his ProRodeo biography.

An online auction has been created on Facebook to raise funds to help with medical costs and provide updates on Levi’s recovery. The Levi Wright Benefit Auction is accepting auction items for donation though June 15, with bidding closing at 7 p.m. MDT Friday, June 21.
