Utah: Shots fired at UHP Officer
Saltair, March 13, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – At approximately 11pm, around Saltair, a UHP officer reported that he heard shots fired. The officer noticed a dark car speeding on the frontage road and at one time paralleled the vehicle, the officer on I-80 and possible suspect on the frontage road, at speeds of 90 -100 miles an hour. Officers say that around 7200 west they lost track of the vehicle.
Several agencies were called out to assist with the call. As of this report, there were no immediate suspects. Lt Jeff Nigbur of the Utah Highway Patrol says, “ This could be a criminal person that wants to ambush and kill police officers. So obviously, we want to track down and take the person into custody.”
