Video: ESPN Personality Berates Towing Company Employee

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 16 (UPI) — Like most of us, ESPN’s Britt McHenry isn’t very keen on having her car towed. Unlike most of us, she’s on TV and now being recognized in a video, shown berating a tow lot employee.

In the video, McHenry is told she is on camera, yet insists to insult the employee with jabs such as: “So I could be a college dropout and do the same thing?” and “Lose some weight, baby girl.”

“I’m in the news, sweetheart, I will f—–g sue this place,” McHenry said.

The Live Leak video has more than 52,000 views.

An article on ARLnow.com preserved a deleted tweet from McHenry on April 6 that read: “Just got towed after eating dinner at an establishment in Arlington. How corrupt is Advanced Towing?”

In the exchange, McHenry states that she was eating in Arlington and had her car towed from the restaurant’s parking lot.

“In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things,” McHenry wrote on Twitter. “As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.”

ESPN has now suspended the reporter for a week.
