ANKARA, Turkey, Nov. 21 (UPI) — A Belgian national of Moroccan descent was arrested in Turkey on suspicion he scouted targets on behalf of the Islamic State militant group for the Nov. 13 attacks on Paris that left at least 129 dead last week.
Ahmet Dahmani, 26, was arrested at a hotel in Antalya, a Turkish resort city near the Mediterranean Sea. Two others — Syrian nationals Ahmet Tahir, 29, and Mohammed Verd, 23 — were arrested on suspicion they were going to transport Dahmani to Syria.The men had fake passports, police said.
Meanwhile in Belgium, authorities arrested one person in connection to the attacks. The arrest happened in the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek. No further information was available.
