PARLEYS CANYON, Utah – Dec. 2, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol has released the name of the man who caused a head-on collision that sent two people to the hospital in critical condition Tuesday.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce, 41-year-old Jon Campbell was driving an older-model Subaru and made a wrong turn coming out of the mouth of Parleys Canyon. Campbell drove directly into oncoming traffic on northbound I-215 near 3300 South and collided with a Chrysler, sending it into the side of a third vehicle.

Campbell had to be extricated and was taken to University Hospital in critical condition and the female driver of the Chrysler was also taken to the hospital with possibly two broken legs. Both have since been upgraded to serious condition.

Sgt. Royce confirmed Tuesday night that Campbell is being charged with driving under the influence and driving the wrong way on a road.
