NEW YORK, Feb. 23 (UPI) — A New York woman stole a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus after being told to stop smoking.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Tuesday when the woman lit a cigarette in the back of the bus and was asked to put it out and get off, MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz told CBS New York.
The woman then became irate, causing the driver to pull the bus over as he called police and let passengers off so they can catch another bus.
According to NBC New York, a second bus blocked her path after she traveled about four blocks.
A dispatcher then reached through the window and shut the bus down as police took the woman into custody.
