WEST JORDAN, Utah, Dec. 20, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a West Jordan man have been arrested in Mexico.
Jesus Molina, 23, and Breaaunah Huff, 22, were arrested in Tijuana, Mexico, according to information from the West Jordan Police Department. They were wanted in the Nov. 1 shooting of Dan Zuniga-Guzman, 22, whose body was found near 6700 South and 4800 West, in the street.
“This week Mexican police officials, who have been working with our detectives and the federal government, captured them without incident,” said a statement posted Wednesday afternoon on the WJPD Facebook page.
“They are now back on U.S. soil and will be brought back to Utah to face justice. They have been charged in connection with the murder.”
According to police documents, Zuniga-Guzman was last seen by his mother at about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Investigators learned that the victim often spent time with Molina’s brother, who lived in the area where the body was found on Nov. 1.
Police responded to the Molina residence, and found a vehicle matching the description of one seen fleeing the crime scene.
Bullets were found on the front passenger seat, a warrant states. A red substance was seen on the front passenger seat. In addition, a beer can found in the vehicle matched one found at the crime scene.
