SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Thursday’s edition of The Daily Mail features a confessional from a self-described call girl who says she visited Utah twice last year for paid trysts with a married Utah lawmaker.
She named her client as 43-year-old Republican Jon E. Stanard, who represented St. George from 2012 until Tuesday night, when he abruptly resigned.
“Last night, Rep. Stanard unexpectedly resigned due to personal and family concerns,” House Speaker Greg Hughes, R-Draper, said Wednesday in a prepared statement. “We will honor his request for privacy, and ask that others do the same. We wish Jon and his family the best at this time.”
Stanard’s resignation was announced after a closed-door House Republican caucus.
According to The Daily Mail, escort Brie Taylor, 39, says Stanard used and paid for her professional services twice after seeing her advertisement online. The newspaper claims to have seen texts that supported Taylor’s accounts of the two meetings.
In a series of texts shared by the paper, Stanard appears to set up an appointment at the Marriott Residence Inn, in Salt Lake City, and questions her on the amount of the “donation” for one hour. The texts show that Taylor responded “250.”
Texts indicate that the exchanges between Taylor and Stanard happened in March and August of 2017.
Taylor told reporters that Stanard was not a drinker, but the two did talk about a medical marijuana bill that was under discussion during the legislature.
Attempts by The Daily Mail, Gephardt Daily and other news agencies have not yet been successful, according to reports.
Stanard last year voted in favor of stricter laws on prostitution. A now-removed statement on his website said: “I am a strong advocate for conservative family values. I am pro life, as well as for traditional marriage.”
Hmm….She is British. Were any whips involved?
Stanard last year voted in favor of stricter laws on prostitution…. “I am a strong advocate for conservative family values. I am pro life, as well as for traditional marriage.” Translation: I’ll say anything to make gullible morons whom pretend to be as morally superior as I pretend to be.
