SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people were taken into custody after a brief standoff Friday morning at Salt Lake City motel.
Police were called to the scene of the Salt City Inn, at 1025 N. 900 West.
Detective Greg Wilking, Salt Lake City Police Department, said at the scene that police received multiple calls regarding an armed man acting suspiciously in the area.
The suspect was not cooperating with police requests for contact, so the SWAT team was ordered at about 10 a.m. Nearby buildings were evacuated.
Shortly afterward, a man and a woman who had been barricaded in a room surrendered to police.
