OGDEN, Utah, June 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden police have identified the man who was fatally shot Wednesday.
The deceased is 23-year-old Denero Lamar Snider.
Gunshots were reported at about 4:30 p.m. at a residence on the 600 block of 23rd Street, Lt. Tim Scott, an investigator at the Ogden Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.
“Police responded here on a report of shots fired,” Scott said at the scene. “They found an adult male, mid 20s, victim, of a gunshot wound, or wounds.”
Snider was treated by paramedics at the scene, then rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds, a news release issued Wednesday evening said.
Investigators had responded to the crime scene from the Ogden Police Department, the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, the Weber County Critical Incident Task Force, and Crime Scene Investigation.
They were on scene, the police statement says, “following up on leads and possible suspect information. Preliminarily, this appears to be an isolated incident involving acquaintances. There is no known threat to the general public.”
Scott said earlier that investigators already had a suspect in mind.
“We are following up on leads. We do have active leads on our suspect,” Scott said at about 5:30 p.m. “We could consider outstanding at this time since he’s not in custody.
“We are working leads diligently at this time to try to get him (the unnamed suspect) in custody as soon as possible, and get him off the streets,” Scott said.
