DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials were called to the scene of what they are calling the “unattended death” of a 2-year-old boy in Duchesne County Sunday.
A statement on Facebook said Duchesne County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home north of Roosevelt at approximately 8 a.m. on “a report of an unresponsive child at the residence.”
When deputies arrived, they determined the 2-year-old boy was deceased, the news release said.
The toddler’s body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, as required by state law in the case of an unattended death.
Officials did not give further details of the circumstances surrounding the 2-year-old’s passing.
“We extend our condolences to all those affected by the boy’s death,” the news release said.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
