Park City police warn of mountain lion sighting

PARK CITY, Utah, Sept. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Park City Police Department is warning residents that a mountain lion has been seen in the area of 3300 Meadows Drive.

The mountain lion was seen Thursday morning at approximately 8:15 a.m., a news release on Facebook said.

“Several officers of the Park City Police Department have been dispatched to the area and while they did not locate the animal, they will remain in the area as a precaution,” the news release said.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has been notified and will respond to any further reported sightings.

“In most of these cases, mountain lions are generally tranquilized and released back into the wild away from human habitation,” the news release goes on.

If you see the mountain lion, please do not approach and immediately notify police dispatch by dialing 911.
