WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, July 4, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — A West Valley City man who was shot in the leg had his neighbor call police on Saturday morning.
Police responded to the scene, near 3850 S. 4800 West, after the 7:24 a.m. call.
“Police contacted the victim, who was extremely intoxicated,” Lt. Jeff Conger, West Valley City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.
“He could not give information about who shot him. He was transported in good condition, and is expected to recover.”
The neighbor also shared some details.
“The neighbor who called police said there was another male that left in a car,” Conger said. “From what the neighbor said, they had been drinking out back for a while.”
Police will check back with the victim, Conger said.
“We are waiting for the victim to sober up, then a detective will contact him at a later time.”
