SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, July 6, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — One person sustained minor injuries after a semi and a car collided on Interstate 15 in Salt Lake County Wednesday morning.
“A semi and a gray Hyundai were northbound on I-15 at the I-80 westbound split,” said a statement from Utah Highway Patrol. “For a reason still being determined the two vehicles collided and blocked the ramp to I-80 westbound. The car went under the trailer on the passenger side.”
The female driver of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance. The semi driver was not injured.
The ramp was closed for about an hour.
“We found that the semi had stopped in the gore area because he missed the I-80 exit,” the statement said. “Cars were stopping for the semi and when the Hyundai noticed the stopped cars, they swerved into the side of the semi.”
