SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Fire Department celebrated a visit from Saturday Night Live performer and comic film star Pete Davidson, also a member of firefighters’ extended family.

“Brotherhood and Sisterhood in the Fire Service,” reads the fire department’s account of the celebrity walk-on posted Thursday night on social media.

“For generations, the fire service has stood as a beacon of unity and solidarity. Whether you’re from a bustling city department or a small-town volunteer squad, the bond we share transcends geography and uniform. This includes the families who support these everyday heroes.

“Recently, Pete Davidson was in town and reached out to Salt Lake City Fire. Pete’s father, Scott Davidson, served with FDNY and tragically lost his life among the 343 firefighters on 9/11.”

That’s Pete in the middle of the photo with the SLCFD crew, sporting blond hair and a FDNY shirt. Not only is he one of America’s favorite comics, he’s also known as a bit of a heartthrob with well-publicized dalliances with Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande, among others.

The Salt Lake City Fire Department posted on social media that it “was honored to meet with Pete and listen to the fond memories of his father in the fire service.

“His legacy lives on through Pete, who carries the strength and resilience of his father.

“The fire service is more than a job — it’s a family. Let’s honor and support the brave men and women who risk everything for our safety and the families who stand by them.”

Davidson appeared Wednesday night at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City as part of his nationwide “Prehab Tour.”
