Roof, kitchen fire causes estimated $400K damage to Nephi home

NEPHI, Utah, May 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters from several agencies responded to a house fire in Nephi on Thursday evening that caused an estimated $400,000 in damage.

Crews from the Nephi, Mona, Levan and Rocky Ridge fire departments responded at 8:13 p.m. to a house fire at an undisclosed location, the Nephi Fire Department stated on social media.

Crews arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the roof of the home, as well as in the kitchen area, the post says.

“Departments knocked the fire down and performed overhaul by pulling the ceilings and roof sections,” the post says.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
