SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 10, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – The Salt Lake City Police Gang Unit is investigating an early morning double shooting in the city’s downtown entertainment district.
Brent Weisberg, public information officer for SLCPD, told Gephardt Daily, on scene, that patrol officers were responding to reports of a fight near 300 South State Street about 12:55 a.m. Saturday, when they heard gunshots ring out from a nearby parking garage.
A male victim was found critically wounded inside the parking garage, while a female victim, age 24, was discovered in a nearby business with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect or suspects remain at large, although police believe the shooting has gang ties.
