LAYTON, Utah, Sept. 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman who was fleeing law enforcement at a high rate of speed died Sunday morning after her vehicle rolled, ejecting her and a child, a Utah Highway Patrol statement says.

Troopers gave the child aid until medical crews arrived and transported the juvenile to a local hospital, the statement says.

The woman was pursued after an attempt-to-locate order was given, UHP says. She had come from Salt Lake County and driven north to Davis County.

“The vehicle failed to yield to troopers and took an off-ramp at milepost 332. Once the driver took the exit troopers terminated the pursuit. The vehicle crashed and rolled, ejecting both occupants. The adult female driver was pronounced deceased on scene.”

Exit 322 is the Antelope Drive exit in Layton.

Gephardt Daily will have more information as it is confirmed.
