Wife of missing Utah National Guardsman arrested; faces possible murder charge in husband’s death

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah, Oct. 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The wife of Matthew Johnson, 51, who was reported missing on Sept. 23 from his Utah National Guard workplace, has been arrested for his alleged murder.

Jennifer Gledhill, 41, was booked into the Salt Lake County jail system Wednesday, Oct. 2. She is being investigated for murder, a first-degree felony, her booking information says.

Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill released a statement acknowledging developments in the case Wednesday night.

“The Salt Lake County District’s Attorney’s Office is aware of the arrest of Jennifer Gledhill by the Cottonwood Heights Police Department on suspicion of the alleged murder of her husband, Matthew Johnson,” Gill’s statement says.

“The matter will be screened for any charges, as is our protocol.”
