Mountain biker airlifted after Snowbasin crash

SNOWBASIN, Utah, Oct. 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Weber Fire crews were dispatched to Snowbasin after a mountain biker crashed on a trail and suffered a traumatic injury.

The incident was called in to dispatch at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, the Weber Fire District statement says.

The crash rendered the biker unconscious.

“Weber Fire District crews, along with Snowbasin Ski Patrol and the Airmed flight crew, performed a technical rescue,” the statement says.

“They used a side-by-side vehicle to reach the crash site, where they stabilized and packaged the patient before transporting them to a waiting AirMed helicopter.

“The patient was then airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.”
