SAN DIEGO, March 17 (UPI) — Bumble Bee is recalling about 31,000 cases of canned chunk light tuna, saying there is a possibility the contents are spoiled.

The problem surfaced at an unidentified vendor’s packing facility, which Bumble Bee does not own or operate.

The recalled products are 5-ounce cans of chunk light tuna in water, sold individually or in four-packs, and 5-ounce cans of chunk light tuna in oil. The products covered in the recall carry three specific UPC codes: 8660000020, 8660000021, and 8660000736, and start with a can code “T.”

Best-buy dates on the recalled cans range from Feb. 9, 2019 to Feb. 25, 2019.

The company tells CBS News the recalls were issued out of “an abundance of caution” following “process deviations” at the packing facility.
