CEDAR FORT, Utah, May 9, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 62-year-old Provo man died following a crash with a semitrailer Thursday morning in Utah County.

The investigation began at 7:40 a.m. in Saratoga Springs, where police received reports of a car “swerving all over the road on Pioneer Crossing,” according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

At 7:56 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash involving the same car on state Route 73 in Cedar Fort. Officials say the car drifted across the center line and hit an eastbound semi.

The driver of the car, Daniel Curtis Brock, was trapped for more than 50 minutes while Unified Fire Authority crews worked to extract him, according to the sheriff’s office.

Brock was transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital, where he later died, officials said.

The semi driver was uninjured. A third car sustained minor debris damage in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
