NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (UPI) — “Today” producers have recruited co-host Carson Daly to take over the 9 a.m. hour of the morning show in the wake of Billy Bush‘s suspension.
Bush was suspended from the show after a tape surfaced in which Bush and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump engaged in a lewd discussion about women.
Today execs said Bush is suspended “pending further review,” and did not give a date for his return.
“Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed,” Bush said in a statement. “It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”
Daly is set to host the 9 a.m. programming block alongside Tamron Hall.
